Fun with scripting - Video Tutorial

Scripting can be used to create the perfect sound effect without altering the original sound files. In this tutorial, we'll create a clockwork heartbeat. We will slow down the tempo of each file, and then create a script that incorporates a 200ms delay to synchronize the playback.

Using the new Script Editor - Video Tutorial
December 24, 2010

The new script editor in version 1.8.1224 of Scene Sound is faster and easier to use. In this tutorial, we'll create a script to simulate a train passing by and blowing its whistle.

When creating a new script, you can either select from the drop down of available choices or just begin to type. The editor will help you by suggesting options based on what you already typed.

For our train script, we'll start out with the volume off and the pan all the way to the right. By sliding the volume higher and the pan towards the center, we can simulate an approach. After a few seconds we'll play the whistle sound and wait for it to finish. The train pulls away by lowering the sound and panning all the way to the left.
